2008 Kayak Adventures

Ky River Runners currently offer 2 different tours paddling down the Green River in Mammoth Cave National Park. Most tours begin at 9 AM CST and we meet at the Green River Ferry.

Trip A - $75 per person - (7 miles) - Dennison's Ferry to Green River Ferry- This is our most popular tour with a starting point close to the Northeast boundary of the Park. Abundant wildlife and gorgeous scenery complement a fun paddle down the Green River. There is even a small cave that can be accessed with a kayak during higher water levels. Our trip includes a paddle down the River Styx to visit another rock shelter and entertain hikers who have ventured on the park trails. This trip lasts approximately 4 hours.

Trip B - $85 per person - (12 miles) - Green River Ferry to Houchins Ferry - This trip is longer in length and offers several chances to glimpse wildlife and enjoy the beautiful forests and high cliffs of the Park. There are two caves to visit and several islands to stop and take a break. A side trip down Buffalo Creek provides a chance to paddle smaller waters and view places not accessible from any trails. This trip lasts approximately 6 hours and is recommended for stronger paddlers.

Children - Please contact us here for questions about age and size requirements for children.

Custom Trips - KY River Runners can customize paddling trips down several rivers in SouthCentral Kentucky. We are experienced paddling the Barren River, the Green River, Drakes Creek, and the Gaspar River. We will be glad to discuss other trips available to us in our region.

Camping - We are pleased to announce the addition of camping throughout Mammoth Cave Park on the Green River. There are several islands and sandbars that making camping and kayaking a natural fit. Please contact us for further information.
